This is MY personal winter favorite. I could eat this all day, including breakfast, on the cold chilly days of winter.   Since I am not a person who measures when she cooks, the amounts of the ingredients below are estimates. I also like my chili medium-hot (flavoring not temperature), add more spices or peppers to warm yours up.

Mary’s Turkey Chili

Brown 1 lb. of lean turkey burger in a large pot, drain. Wipe excess fat from pot and place cooked turkey burger back in pot.

Add:

2 jars/cans of Low Sugar spaghetti/tomato sauce

2 cans of reduced sodium diced tomatoes

1-2 cans of reduced sodium chili beans

1 Large Sweet Onion chopped

1/4 c. Oregano

1/4 c. Basil

1/4 c. Chili Powder

1/4 c. Minced Garlic

1-2 Bay Leaves

Either cook on low heat, mixing occasionally ~OR~ place in crock pot and cook on low all day.

Another healthy tip: trade out sour cream with Greek Yogurt…you won’t even notice the difference!
