You will notice I did not have the word diet in the title of this page. Why? Diets have a deadline and usually mean calorie restriction an deprivation. When your diet ends and you go back to “normal” eating, most of if not all, or worse yet, MORE weight usually comes back on. My nutrition philosophy is somewhat of a hybrid of Tosca Reno’s Eat Clean Diet and Bill Phillip’s Body For Life Program. What both of these programs are, is eating like our grandparents did. Proteins, starchy “clean” carbohydrates, tons of veggies and some fruit. Grandma and Grandpa didn’t have all the processed, junk and fast foods that is in our world today. How I will be coaching you to prep your meals and eat, is how I eat. Do I have ice cream, pizza, or whatever your favorite “bad” food is? Sure, just once or twice a week…not every meal of everyday.
Another one of my nutrition philosophies is “it has to be easy”. My goal is to set you up for success! In our busy world today, you don’t have extra time to spend at the grocery store searching for strange ingredients, or in the kitchen with complex recipes. My plan will have you spending some time a week prepping and/or pre-cooking the staples (lean proteins, veggies, and starches) so you can “grab and go” the rest of the week. My motto for nutrition follows the 5 “P”s”:
